Anyone else feel like their school year didn’t happen because of COVID-19? I’m really in disbelief thinking about how every student’s year was cut short; I know so many people are trying to work through their feelings about the current situation, myself included. This (long) blog post is dedicated to the highlights of my junior year because I’m trying to remind myself that so many memorable things happened!
August: Move-in, sorority Work & Recruitment Weeks, Bid Day, and the First Day of School
Move-in: I loved my fall semester living situation. My parents helped move me into my sorority house executive floor, where I had a room to myself, and lived next door to some of my best friends. This room always made me feel so cozy, and I can’t wait to get these pieces out of storage soon and move into my senior year house! Click here to see my post dedicated to my room. Also, huge shoutout to Jennifer Northorp for painting the incredible lampshade.
Work Week: This was such a tiring but rewarding week. Also, I’m very thankful my sorority’s color is pink.
Bid Day: After planning Bid Day for months, I got to stand in TCU’s student union and watch my new members run toward me screaming and cheering, then run up the commons with them and head to our venue to celebrate. The planning process was exhausting, but I’d do it all over again to relive that amazing day. Click here to watch our Bid Day video.
September: Football Season, Texas State Fair, birthdays, and visitors
Football Season: I’m not a huge sports fan, but I do love how spirited TCU is and how football brings so many people together. Here are some of my favorite photos from tailgating before games!
Texas State Fair: Some friends and I drove to Dallas for the day and rode all the rides and ate all the food we could.
Claire turned 21! Mamma Mia style! Everyone wore white, and she had the cutest photo wall, desserts, and party favors (the custom cups we’re holding in this photo)!
Visitors: Anna and her friend, Ellie, visited Fort Worth! We went to dinner on Magnolia street, drove downtown, and had a sleepover. I’m glad they got to see what living on campus is like as a student!
October: King Princess concert, 21st birthday weekend, Dad’s weekend, TCU vs. UT, Formal
King Princess concert: I stayed with my cousin, Keeton, for the weekend, and we saw King Princess. If you haven’t heard her songs, I highly recommend listening to her music.
21st birthday weekend: Click here to see my blog post about this weekend!
Dad’s Weekend: For the first day of Dad’s Weekend, my dad and I went to a brewery in Fort Worth. He was so in his element, and it was fun to spend my first full weekend of being 21 trying whiskey concoctions with him!
TCU vs. UT game: The next day of Dad’s Weekend was the TCU vs. UT game! Keeton drove in from Dallas and joined my family for lunch at Woodshed. Go Frogs!!
November: Initiation, Formal, brunch & ballet, and Thanksgiving Break
Initiation: The saying “You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone” is how I can describe my time as New Member Educator. It was one of the most stressful, but rewarding opportunities I’ve ever experienced, and I couldn’t be prouder of my new members! The photo below features the traditional gift they get as they arrive at our house for Initiation.
Brunch and ballet: The seamster started to wrap up, and so did my position on my sorority’s Executive Committee. We had one last brunch at Snooze in Fort Worth, and later passed our positions to so many hard-working women!
A few weeks later, Fontana and I went to support Brittany at her ballet show. I love my study abroad gals!
Thanksgiving Break: I brought Kalyn and Katherine to my favorite coffee shop in Fort Worth and gave them a tour of my sorority house!
Before my family’s Thanksgiving meal, my siblings and I took this photo. My mom told us we looked like the Osbourne’s, lol.
December: Christmas party with friends, leaving campus, Christmas with family, and NYE
Christmas party with friends: Little did we know this party would be our group’s last time altogether for a while. Shoutout to Megan for decorating her apartment adorably and being the best hostess!
Leaving campus: My family came to Fort Worth to have brunch with me before my last week of school to help me move out. One week later, I headed home! I was sad to leave campus and thought I wouldn’t be returning for months. Crazy how fast things can change.
Christmas with family: What’s Christmas without cousins, matching pajamas, and bingo? And Christmas morning without a carb-filled breakfast? Lol. Truly the best time of the year.
NYE: Me and a martini. Back then, I was “cheers-ing” to a very adventurous 2020.
January-February: Study Abroad
I’ve already posted about my travels abroad; please feel free to check out my previous posts!

My Favorite Outfit I Wore in Italy
March-May: I feel like we’ve all gone through phases during these past few months. Initially, I was fearful but later accepted and adapted to the situation. I’ve used this time to finish school, get mentally and physically healthy, and work on my blog! As I write this, I’m feeling so relieved because I just turned in my exams, and am ready to plan the next few weeks of content!
Thank you for reading, and have a wonderful weekend and Mother’s Day!
Until next time,
