Two years ago today, my cousin and I traveled to Europe for two weeks. I wore this outfit on our first full day of being in London. From walking miles across the city during the day to attending Phantom of the Opera on the West End at night, this look was perfect for all the things on our to-do list.
I felt like my polka dot dress (similar),jean jacket, Elaine Turner sneakers, and sunglasses aligned with the London aesthetic well; in my opinion, this look is chic but whimsical thanks to my outfit’s black, white, and denim color palette and rose-colored lenses. And I love the texture the denim jacket provides. Not to mention, the weather was still chilly at night when we were there, so the piece was a necessary layer. The midi dress is a classic, and I think I’ve brought it with me on trips to Europe ever since because I always remember how versatile it was.
Last but not least, the sneakers (which sadly aren’t for sale anymore) initially made the city more walkable versus a pair of pumps or sandals. That is, they would’ve been even more comfortable if I broke them in before packing them in my suitcase. I may or may not have replaced these beautiful blush shoes for a pair of Nike’s mid-trip; I wish I could go back in time to save them, but the state of my feet was my priority at the time. Beauty is not always pain, people!
Until next time,
Lindi
