Last week was my sorority’s big/little reveal week!
Background: In my sorority, we’re paired with potential little sisters for the first five weeks of school. At the end of the fifth week, we’re paired with our official littles. Then reveal week begins. The first three days consist of giving gift baskets, and the fourth day is the reveal! Here’s what I gave to my little during the week.
Day One:
Shoutout to my mom for painting this canvas. While I like to think of myself as a creative person, I can’t paint to save my life.
Day Two:
Day Three:
Day Four (reveal):
Welcome to the PHAM, Annie! Love you so much!
MY BASKET-CREATING THOUGHT PROCESS: LAYERS AND LEVELS
Step One:
This crate was about 16 inches deep, so I knew I would have to create layers with the items I intended on giving my little this day. So, I used T-shirts and extra candy to make the first layer.
Step Two:
I started my second layer by adding tissue paper. I basically molded it to the edges of the basket, and fluffed the tops of the papers to my liking.
Step Three:
I finished the second layer by working back to front. You know when you’re taking a group picture, and the tall people stand in the back, and the short people stand in the front? This is the same kind of concept! I used the tallest items (the canvas and popcorn) to create a tall level, and placed the shortest items (the white boxes and juices) to create a short level.
Step Four:
I finished the basket by hanging tassels with clothes pins, and labeling my little’s name on pink card stock.
Thank you so much for reading!
Until next time,
Lindi
